Transverse Colon

 

 

 

It follows a sagging course across the abdomen, and in many people sags about ¾ of the way down to the naval in the middle.
When filled with enema solution it sags even more when standing or in an upright position.
Definition:
(noun)  The part of the large intestine that extends across the abdominal cavity and joins the ascending  colon to the descending colon.
 

Medical Definition:
Part of the colon that extends across the abdomen from right to left.
