Bisacodyl, a10mg dose, works as a stimulant laxative. It stimulates the colon to produce a
bowel movement in 15 minutes to an hour. Lubrication can help with the insertion process. Do not use Vaseline it will take longer to melt, use a water-based lubricant. These suppositories are made with hydrogenated vegetable oil. This can also help lubricate the rectum and allow firm stool to soften and pass more comfortably. Feeling
the suppository sliding past the rectal opening (anus)and the
finger pushing it higher up into the rectum can be an erotic experience for some. |
Warning: Do not use enemas or laxatives if abdominal pain, nausea, or
vomiting are present unless directed by your health care provider.
Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative or enema may
