
| Rectal tubes and Colon tubes are
basically the same thing the only difference is the length. Colon tubes are
longer. Most rectal tubes are made from rubber which many people find they have an
allergic reaction to. Many people prefer to use a rectal tube when taking an enema rather than a rigid nozzle because it is soft and flexible. |
Here are three fairly small sizes that are each
approximately 15 inches long and two larger rectal tubes. A larger size 15 inch colon tube is 18 French (is just under 3/8 inch in diameter). The size you use will depend on what you need to accomplish and what is comfortable for you. |

Do not use enemas or laxatives if abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present

Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative or enema may
