| An enema series is when you take or give several enemas in succession. Releasing
each enema before taking the next until the entire large intestine from the anus to the cecum has been cleansed. A good enema series happens when you are able to inject enough filtered water into your colon to stimulate peristalsis throughout the entire colon, thus cleansing the entire large intestine and not just the rectum or sigmoid areas. Once enough water is in the colon, you then move to the toilet and expel it, and the resulting waste. You then repeat the process several times until colon is clean. |
| Enema Recipe: 2 quarts warm filtered water Water Temperature 100° to 105°Fahrenheit Directions: When releasing the enema or just having a normal bowel movement: The best position for expelling your enema is squatting over the toilet not sitting on
it. The squatting position puts pressure on your abdomen from your thighs. It is best if you place a Welles Step and then squat down over the toilet to release your enema. |
It is a good idea to rest in between enemas during a series this allows your body to relax and rest. On the last enema of the series is a good time to add a herbal preparation or some beneficial Flora to the enema water. Or you can make the last enema, a coffee enema.
Warning: Do not use enemas or laxatives if abdominal pain, nausea, or
vomiting are present unless directed by your health care provider.
Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative or enema may
indicate a serious condition.
Discontinue use and consult your health care provider.
