Coffee Enema

Never inject anything into your colon hotter than 115°Fahrenheit.
There is nothing like a good coffee enema for a clean fresh invigorated feeling.
The use of coffee in enemas for detoxification purposes is well known.
It is a common herbal remedy that has been suggested by alternative medicine professionals
for many years.
When used as a retention enema;
|
To make the coffee enema solution, place 2 quarts of steam-distilled
water in a pan, and add 8 heaping tablespoons of ground coffee (do not use instant or
decaffeinated). Boil the mixture for fifteen minutes, cool to a comfortable
temperature, and strain.
|
To maximize the benefits of this or any other retention enema.
Use a cleansing enema first.
| Do not abuse coffee enemas by using them too often. Use them
only once daily while following a program for a specific disorder, unless you are
being treated for cancer. People with cancer may need up to three enemas a day. You may also use coffee
enemas occasionally as needed. Remember that excessive use of coffee enemas over six months or more may deplete the bodys stores of iron, as well as other minerals and vitamins, causing anemia. Do not use coffee enemas for longer than four to six weeks at a time. If you develop anemia during treatment or whenever you use this daily enema for a long period of time be sure to take desiccated liver tablets as directed on the label. If you have AIDS, or another serious illness, or if you have a malabsorption problem, add 1 cc of B-complex vitamins or 2 cc of inject able liver extract, plus a tablespoon of liquid kelp or sea water concentrate (found in health food stores), to the enema solution. If you are unable to locate injectable forms of these supplements~ open 2 capsules of a B-complex supplement and add the contents to the enema solution, making sure it dissolves before use. Used daily, these supplements should replace any lost B vitamins, help rebuild the liver, and provide an extra boost of energy. |
| Why it works The effects of a coffee enema are different than a saline enema. The most important difference between a saline enema and a coffee enema is the presence of caffeine in the coffee. Caffeine, theophylline and theobromine, combine to stimulate the relaxation of smooth muscles causing dilatation of blood vessels and bile ducts. The effects of having a coffee enema are not the same as drinking coffee. The veins of the colon are very close to the surface of the tissue. The caffeine is therefore absorbed more quickly (and in higher concentration) than it is in when coffee is drunk. Liver benefits Additionally, coffee has a chemical makeup that is stimulant. The enzymes in coffee, known as palmitates, help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid. The coffee is absorbed into the hemorrhoidal vein, then taken up to the liver by the portal vein. With the bile ducts dilated, bile carries toxins away to the gastro-intestinal tract. Simultaneously, peristaltic activity is encouraged because of the flooding of the lower colon. Thus, when the colon is evacuated, the toxins and bile are carried out of the body. |
| The use of coffee in enemas for detoxification purposes has been a well known and used practice for many years. There is no better stimulant for bile production and its subsequent flushing out than coffee. This is due to a number of pharmacologically acting substances in the coffee. The combination of theobromine, theophylline and caffeine stimulates the relaxation of smooth muscles causing dilatation of blood vessels and bile ducts. Hence bile flow is increased. Also increased are the number of toxins which are conjugated in the bile. This is due to the activity of other substances in the coffee, the palmitates, which activate the enzyme system, glutathione-S-transferase, seven-fold. This enzyme system, which is selenium-dependent, is responsible for grabbing toxins, free-radicals and bilirubin (breakdown product of red blood cells) and delivering them to the bile where they are carried out in the bile acids. The mopping up of free-radicals effectively inhibits the formation of carcinogens and therefore this enzyme performs a protective role. The coffee enema is unsurpassed in its capacity to stimulate the flushing of toxic bile or bile that has been loaded with toxins by the glutathione S transferase system and it has literally been a life-saver to many hundreds of people undergoing extreme detoxification. For example, on Gersons therapy, his particular prescription of diet and supplementation causes huge releases of sodium, water and toxins from the cells which if not eliminated through the bile result in toxic poisoning of the system with serious consequences. He recommended that these enemas be taken every four hours to relieve the toxic burden. I have found that the use of enemas in certain cases, prove to be very beneficial in the detoxification process and have enabled patients to progress at a faster rate than they would normally have been able to due to the extreme symptoms of toxicity experienced on a comparatively mild cleanse. The effects of taking a coffee enema are not the same as drinking coffee. The coffee is absorbed into the haemorrhoidal vein, then taken up by the portal vein which serves the liver directly. The enema is retained for 15 minutes during which time it stimulates the liver cells to cleanse the blood, removing toxins. The entire blood circulation will be recycled through the liver about five times during this period enabling a thorough cleanse. With the bile ducts open a flushing of toxic bile is encouraged which enters the gastro-intestinal tract. The large volume of fluid retained in the lower colon stimulates peristaltic activity which ensures the propulsion of bile through the intestine to the outside. It is important to remember that the enema is given for the stimulation of the liver and not for the function of the intestines. |
| It is interesting to note that drinking a cup of coffee has an entirely different
effect from that of using it as a cleansing enema. Drinking coffee causes the following
problems: increases reflex response; lowers blood pressure; increases heart rate; causes
insomnia and heart palpitations; over stimulates the adrenals; irritates the stomach; and
leaves a toxic residue in the body. A coffee enema when done properly will not produce
these effects. When doing intestinal cleaning, one or two coffee enemas a week should be fine if, the person passed the pH tests. Otherwise, that person should drink fresh juices, especially carrot, beet and celery juices throughout the cleanse. The Alkalizer or Electrolife is even better to take. Great care should be taken if the person is water fasting. The bile that is released from coffee enemas contains many valuable mineral salts. These need to be replenished. People who do several coffee enemas a day should be on a good diet of broth's and fresh juices, to assure the replenishing of mineral salts. *The chemicals found in commercially grown coffee could damage the liver when used as a coffee enema. Use ONLY organically grown coffee! Note: Two Coffee Enemas in a week during a cleansing period are good for most people-but not for everyone. If coffee enemas make a person feel worse, even when using organic coffee, they should discontinue using them. Coffee enemas should be used with caution. Coffee enemas can be stressful to the liver and too many of them can cause liver stress. After cleansing, coffee enemas should only be used as an emergency, not just to perk oneself up! |
Warning: Do not use enemas or laxatives if abdominal pain, nausea, or
vomiting are present unless directed by your health care provider.
Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative or enema may
indicate a serious condition.
Discontinue use and consult your health care provider.

The earliest medical text in existence, the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus, (1,500 B.C.)
mentions the enema for it's healing attributes.
The Pharaoh had a "guardian of the anus," which was a special doctor, whose sole
purpose was to administer the
royal enema.
