above the rectum will create a nice gentle flow of enema solution into the colon. If for some reason the enema flow stops you can temporarily raise the bag higher to resume the flow. Most people find that a slow introduction of warm fluid into the rectum is much easier to manage and hold than if the solution is entering the colon at a high flow rate. |

Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative or enema may
indicate a serious condition.
